Client support software for agencies and studios

After launch, every client product gets support questions. Roper lets an agency run a separate inbox, help center and widget for each client from one plan: up to 10 workspaces on Team at $49 a month.

The short answer

Agencies can run support for up to 10 client products on one Roper Team plan at $49 a month, with a separate inbox, help center, chat widget and feedback board for each. Two limits matter for client work: the widget and public pages show a "Powered by Roper" credit that cannot be removed yet, and help centers cannot use a client's own domain yet. Roper has no per-client billing or agency dashboard.

Roper is made by the team that wrote this post. Figures for other tools come from their own public pages, listed under Sources, and are list prices in US dollars that can change.

What works today

  • Separate workspace per client. Up to 10 on Team (3 on Pro). Each has its own inbox, help center, widget key, feedback board, team and data.
  • Unlimited seats on Team. Your agency staff and the client's own staff can be invited by email to the workspaces they need.
  • One script tag per client site. The same install works on any stack. Logged-in user details can be passed through for each client's app.
  • Each client's help center and feedback board are public pages under that workspace, branded with the client's name, logo and accent colour.
  • AI answers from the client's own articles, with citations and a visible AI label, and a hand-off to a person when the articles do not cover the question.

What does not work yet

  • No white-label. The widget and each public page show a small "Powered by Roper" credit. There is no setting to remove it.
  • No custom domains. A client's help center lives on its Roper workspace address, not on help.client.com.
  • No agency dashboard or per-client billing. You pay for the plan; you invoice clients yourself.
  • Workspace limit. Team covers up to 10 workspaces. Beyond that, each extra workspace needs its own plan.
  • The usual limits: no phone or social channels, no SLA timers or routing rules, and the AI does not take account actions.

A simple way to offer it

  1. Add "post-launch support setup" to a build: workspace, brand settings, widget install and a first batch of help articles written from the client's docs.
  2. Hand the client their inbox login, or keep it on your retainer and answer for them.
  3. Review the top tags monthly and turn repeat questions into new articles. That is the work clients value.

Pricing for your own resale is up to you. Roper's price is flat at $49 a month for Team, whatever you charge clients.

When another tool fits better

If every client needs its own domain, hidden branding, or a single dashboard across clients, a white-label help desk is the better choice today. If clients are small SaaS products that need a help center, a widget and an inbox, and a small credit is acceptable, Roper's flat price is hard to beat. See per seat vs flat rate pricing.

Questions

Common questions

Can an agency use one Roper account for several clients?
Yes, within the workspace limit: up to 10 on Team and 3 on Pro. Each workspace is separate, with its own team, data, widget key and public pages.
Can we remove the Powered by Roper credit?
Not yet. The widget and the public help center and feedback board show a small credit, and there is no setting to hide it.
Can clients use their own domain for the help center?
Not yet. Each workspace's pages live on its Roper address. Custom domains are not built.
Does Roper have a partner or referral program?
No, not at the moment. If you plan to bring several clients, contact the Roper team before you commit.
Is it GDPR-friendly for European clients?
Each workspace's data is stored separately, and the privacy policy describes how data is handled. Read the privacy policy and check your own obligations before you promise anything to a client; this page is not legal advice.
